I was married in 1971 to Linda. Linda and I had a son Brad born in 1978. We lived and raised Brad in Mississauga and King City. He attended Saint Andrews School in Aurora.
Unexpectedly and unplanned I accepted a “business” job with one or our members from Credit Valley Golf Club in 1975 and I left Professional Golf. Many things happened in quick order after getting into the business world. I was recruited by an American Standard Division (Mosler Safe Company) to help them break into the Canadian banking ATM world. In 1980 I moved to American Standard’s Plumbing Division based in Toronto. I progressed through the ranks eventually becoming Canadian President in 1990.
In 1996 my marriage to Linda was ending and, at the same time, American Standard asked me to move to Thailand as Managing Director of their operations in that country. Six years later I was promoted to Managing Director of their South East Asian businesses which included Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.
I met my wife “Lec” in 1998 at the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. We instantly became “a couple” and eventually married, but no rush, until 2009. I retired in 2006 and we continued to live in Thailand keeping some properties in Bangkok and Hua Hin but building our permanent home in Khao Yai; north of Bangkok.
Our, now son, Isaiah came into our lives in 2011. Soon we developed our plan to raise him for about 5 years in Thailand so he would have some Thai connections with family and culture. But we felt that a life in Canada would be in his best interest long term. So after five years of paperwork with Thai Child Welfare and Development and then with Immigration Canada we immigrated to British Columbia in August 2017
Lec was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. After graduation she joined the national airline, Thai International, as a flight attendant. She married and had two children in her mid 20’s while flying for the airline. Eventually the tasks of flying and raising a family became too much and she retired as a flight attendant.

In subsequent years Lec worked for Citi Bank but raising her two young children was her priority and her business career took a back stage.
Lec was a member at the Royal Bangkok Sports Club where she took a keen interest in horseback riding and golf with her children. Like most things she does Lec passionately pursued golf. From never holding a golf club, in six months, at the age of 35, she became a very good golfer.....getting down to a 15 handicap.
We met in 1998 after Lec had divorced a few years earlier. We spent as much time together as possible but Lec’s priorities and dedicated was to her children and elderly mother who lived with them.
This was a big reason why we did not get married until 2009. Several years after getting married Lec’s monk advised her to change her name in the belief that a carefully selected new name would bring prosperity to our lives together. Her new name became Radha Bovornterabhas.
In addition to children, golf, mother and a new career with the Royal Danish Embassy we found time to golf and fly together. Flying became a significant part of our lives. We will dedicate a section of this web site to aviation.
Our son was born in Roi Et, Thailand on May 23, 2011. The nickname given to him was Isaiah.
When Lec changed her name she also changed “Isaiah’s” name to Kritcharash Bovornterabhas. This is his legal name although in Canada he is known unofficially as Isaiah Livingstone.
Growing up in Khao Yai Isaiah started attending school at age 3.

Growing up in Khao Yai Isaiah started attending school at age 3. Mainly because we had no children living around us and we wanted him to have the experience of interacting with children his age.
He loved school and he loved his friends there very much – he still does.
As mentioned, our plan was to raise Isaiah in Canada. In 2015 we started the tedious process of applying for Permanent Residence in Canada for Lec and Isaiah. Our applications were submitted in November 2015. At the time processing was quoted as 27 months....wow a long time to wonder and wait. Much to our delight and surprise we received a letter in just 9 months advising us to attend an interview at the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok. We attended on September 27, 2016. The officer advised us after the interview that our Visa’s would be granted. The process was done in only 10 months vs the 27 that we had expected. What a celebration we had.
On August 10, 2017 we arrived as new immigrants to Canada. As we already had a house here it was easy to settle in. We had enrolled Isaiah in a private school in Vernon called Vernon Christian School.
He started grade 1 in September 2017. The school is fantastic and Isaiah loves it. He is now in grade 4 (2020/21) and looks forward every day to going to school, playing with his friends and learning new things.
Last winter Isaiah and I did a lot of cross country skiing. In the summer we go RV camping almost every weekend and during the summer holidays. So far Canada has been just great for us and we are happy to have worked through the challenges, paperwork, adjustments and total lifestyle changes together.
Isaiah and his first camping experience. In our little 19' trailer going across Canada.
Driving down the road we spotted a very tiny church building. Going inside we found pews and a small pulpit. Isaiah went up to it. There was a bible open to the book of "Isaiah". Amazing
We tried tenting once. Here we were getting to bed. Reading and keeping warm. However the wind picked up so much the tent almost blew away....with us in it. At 10pm we packed everything up and went home. Never to tent again.
