Vernon, British Columbia

The home we bought, as a part time retirement place in 2009, was sitting there waiting for us when we immigrated in August 2017.    Although it was a bit small and a bit far from town and school we decided we would take a year to settle in before deciding where to live permanently.    I was a great community to start life in Canada.   Set in the mountains, on a golf course, fitness club, hiking trails and a quiet, safe neighborhood.   It was all and more than we needed.

When Isaiah was just 18 months old we came to spend the summer at Predator Ridge.   During that vacation time we visited all the local schools thinking of the future - living in Canada.

We were very enthusiastic about Vernon Christian School as we toured with Steve Onsorge a school administrator.  We knew right away this was the school we wanted Isaiah to attend.   It is a private school centered on Christian faith but largely focused on enjoyable education.   Small classes of about 20 children.    Each class has a teacher and assistant teacher.    

So when it became clear that we were moving to Canada our priority became getting Isaiah into Vernon Christian School.  Again thanks to Steve we were accepted and Isaiah started in September 2017 in grade one.   

He is now in grade three (Dec 2019) and loving his school, teachers and friends.

In January 2019 we found the house we wanted to live in.   It is located on the side of a mountain overlooking Kalamalka Lake and right on the edge of town.  Our area is Coldstream, British Columbia.

We now have a short daily drive to school and only 5 minutes into the center of town.   Skiing and other winter activities are close by.    In the summer the views of the lake are spectacular.    We were lucky to find just the home we wanted here in Canada
